At an event to mark the 10th anniversary of the founding of George magazine, a panel, moderated by Tom Brokaw, was held on the relationship between culture and politics. Panelists discussed how the relationship has evolved over the past ten years. The program included satellite appearances, which were presented above the stage, by former President Bill Clinton and California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger. Following their discussion, the panelists responded to questions and comments from members of the audience. George magazine was created in 1995 by John F. Kennedy, Jr. and Michael Berman, with the goal of engaging more citizens, particularly women and young people, in the political process . By focusing on the intersection of culture and politics, George sought to make politics relevant, interesting and fun.
